Epidemic portrays a deteriorating sunflower: something beautiful in an ugly state. It represents the effects that human-based pollution has on plant life by causing things such as acid rain, air pollution, and ozone. This sculpture will serve as a public and frequent reminder of the effect that humans have on the life in our environment, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. I hope Epidemic encourages people to consider taking steps toward decreasing their own carbon footprint, and keep the beauty in our world alive.
