Agatha’s Contest is the first work I have created for public art. My inspiration for this piece is nurses on the frontline fighting covid. When you are sick, tested, vaccinated, or boosted, it is the nurses that tirelessly never waiver to triumph in this contest. I wanted to dramatize my work like renaissance art that bleeds passion with its imagery to show how this fight is still raging.
Timothy Pease is a disabled veteran and a student at Missouri State University Department of Art and Design.
