The inspiration for this piece was a mining trip I took with my father and his childhood friend in early January 2022. The beauty of pulling the geometric crystals from the earth reminded me of another beautiful sight recently; people making sacrifices in the pandemic to keep each other safe. The biggest example to me being face masks.
