Concrete and Pine

Location: Mother’s Brewing

Curved contour lines set boundaries that materialize her existence. She reaches up and out, heavy and substantial. Areas of her body are exaggerated comprising both strength and irregularity. She is stable and strange, yet she is centralized and well-known to herself.

Her head is several entities, extensions of herself: layers of wood grain packed tightly, contrasting material, conveying warmth. She is a safe and familiar shape, yet a foreign sight. This figure comprises a fleeting reflection of my own self-awareness and transcribes my metaphysical into something that exists. The mind-body connection can be both empowering and fictitious.

Special thanks to Nathan Stracke.
