I wanted to capture an emotional state with this work. I asked my mother to emulate a remembering of fond memories, specifically as a young mother during Christmas time. Nostalgia can be a joyful experience and I wanted viewers to come upon this emotional state in an outdoor environment and empathize with the feeling.
