The Lotus guardian is a monolithic abstract sculpture drawn from Vietnamese folklore, where the white tiger symbolizes freedom, individuality, good fortune, and happiness. The abstraction of the form subtly evokes the blooming lotus flower, a prominent symbol in South and Southeast Asian iconography, representing resilience and the ability to overcome hardship—themes connected to the immigrant experience. By presenting this revered figure in a bold, abstract guardian form, the work brings traditional Vietnamese values into the public sphere and collective consciousness. The tiger, often viewed as a familial guardian, transcends its personal significance to become a universal beacon of community and connection, resonating across cultures and ethnicities. Rooted in my artistic practice, the sculpture integrates themes of heritage, identity, and public interaction, embodying the spirit of guardianship while fostering a shared sense of belonging
