This piece explores the art of making and the role of our hands in this process. Hands are incredibly important tools and do not always get recognized as such. The intent for this piece is to honor hands and the work that is done by them. Choosing steel for the material seemed like a no brainer. Working with steel is a very physical and hands on process which adds to the idea of this piece. Allowing the viewer to see inside the hand through the tubing, prompts them to wonder what inside force is driving this hand to do what it does? Is there a similar force that drives the viewer to do what they do?
