Corten Steel

Location: South of the Historic Downtown Square on South St.

This is an abstract corten steel sculpture. The artwork combines three cubes. One large cube and two smaller cubes that are growing out of the other one. This sculpture is inspired by family and community. There is an interconnectedness that we have with one another, that is visible through this sculpture.

The artwork is scaled for human interaction and engagement. I start with a 3D model made of paper or clay. I typically do different iterations before I land on the right one. Then, I scale the model up to proper scale. All the pieces are cut out with a laser cutter and welded together.
