Stainless Steel

Location: Outside of the Sky Gallery at the Springfield-Branson National Airport

My sculpture is abstract. I did not have a fixed idea in mind, but I was thinking of the concepts of ascendency and inter-connectedness. I begin with found objects, usually the detritus from manufacturing. I am drawn to this material because of its affordibility and because it presents the opportunity to reuse and recycle the built world we live in. I have found this material by frequenting scrap yards. The rings in this work were a one-off find. I expend most of my time thinking about potential components before I begin construction. As with all art, trial and error lead to a finished project.
